When do my benefits begin?

Benefits eligibility begins the 1st day of the month following 30 days of employment. For example, if you start work on June 15th, your first day of coverage will be August 1st.

 

How much paid time off will I receive?
News America Marketing® offers paid time off including vacation days, sick days, and personal days based on tenure at the company. New employees can receive up to 10 vacation days, 5 sick days and 2 personal days per calendar year. The number of paid time off days an employee receives are prorated for the current calendar year.

 

Will I have to pay for any benefits?
News America Marketing pays the cost for your benefits coverage as follows:

 

  • 100% of Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment  
  • 100% of Business Travel Accident
  • 100% of Employee Assistance Plan            
  • 100% of Short and Long Term Disability
  • Generous 401(k) company match  
  • A significant part of your health coverage

What types of medical benefits are offered?

We offer a choice of medical plans through Aetna. Options include Open Access, which offers a preferred network of providers, Traditional Choice, which is an indemnity plan, and HMOs in some states. Dental, vision and prescription drug benefits are included with all medical elections.

 

Do you offer a 401(k) plan?

Employees that are eligible for our 401(k) retirement savings plan will receive benefits including pre-tax, post-tax and company-matching contributions options.

 

What other types of Paid Benefits does News America Marketing offer?

News America Marketing provides an Employee Assistance program, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance, and Business Travel Accident Insurance.

 

Can I add my spouse or children to my benefits?

Eligible dependents including a spouse or children can be added during open enrollment, which is during the fall, or 30 days within a qualifying event.

 

Are there any travel benefits?
We offer a Qualified Transportation Expense Plan. This plan is provided to allow you to pay for travel to and from work related mass transit and parking expenses with pre-tax dollars.

 

Do the offices have gyms?

News America Marketing offers a fitness discount program which provides monthly memberships to health clubs at reduced rates. A few of our offices have an onsite gyms.

 

Does News America Marketing offer educational assistance for continuing education?

Educational assistance is available to regular, full-time employees with ninety (90) consecutive days of active employment and covers tuition totaling up to $3,500 per calendar year. The cost of books, laboratory fees, and other expenses are not eligible for reimbursement consideration.

 

Employees may pursue a degree or take individual courses at approved and accredited educational institutions under this program, provided the course of study is related to the employee’s current position or a probable future assignment and the Company approves the course(s).

  

If I’m hired as an Account Coordinator, to which group will I be assigned?

Our Sales organization is divided into 5 departments--Core Sales, Custom Media, Trade, iGroup, and Partnerships. Employees are placed into one of these groups depending on business needs at the time of employment.

 

When will I know my account assignment?
You will receive your account assignment on your first day of work.

 

What can I do to prepare for my first day of work?
Take a look around our website to learn more about News America Marketing’s products and services and our Training and Development program. When possible, your mentor and/or manager will reach out to you in advance of your start date.

 

Will I always work in the same group?
News America Marketing appreciates that an employee’s interests and goals may change over time. In an effort to provide new opportunities to our employees, an employee might request (or be asked) to transfer into a different group or to a different office based on the employee’s interests and/or the needs of the business.
